From a relatively new, small and family owned vineyard and winery in Macedon, this is a wine that showcases both the place it comes from and the potential of Gamay for the region and in the ‘right’ parts of Australia . Renata & Will are passionate about their wines and it is very evident here.
It is a riotous explosion of fruit and spice on the nose with mulberries and red cherries at the foreground & a spiciness of nutmeg and clove as you delve deeper. When you take a sip there are the flavours of red cherries, verging on morello, with a jube-like brightness and the hints of spice from the nose. Beautifully structured with smooth, velvety tannins there is a lovely interplay between acid and tannin that makes this a wine to enjoy with friends and a wide variety of foods.
