Sealed under DIAM for starters, the wine shows the generosity of this mostly south-facing site, along with the slightly rounder texture and gentle lees influence that marks the winemaker’s general style. Alongside this however, is the tension and acidity of the great 2017 vintage, plus a little reduction and more palate grip than you would customarily find in his wines. Altogether the package is very accessible, but with plenty of cut and Chablis typicity for the purists. I like to think most people who know me in a wine sense know that I am honest (to a fault sometimes) and don't bang on about wines unless I think they really hit the mark. Rest assured, this is a fantastic wine and in today's market brilliant value. In the market of 2022/23 it will look like extraordinary value…'
